Not much known about
the horses, they were in Veneta on some property where
no one lives in the house, animal control is trying to
track down the owners from help of neighbors,
A neighbor turned them
in, Bernie went out yesterday and when he saw how bad
they were he called Sandy, asked if She was available to
pick them up and house them for him and she said yes, he
posted a 24 hour seizure warrant on the gate and all
fences and when he did not get a phone call by 2 pm
today She went and got them he was there with another
deputy just in case of any trouble, the horses had
nothing to eat except moss a few weeds and tree bark.
Sandy
had a full exam done on them tonight at Del Oeste and is
waiting for blood results late tomorrow, if they come
back clear then She will haul them home with her on
Saturday.
She will be looking for
foster or permanent homes. If none can be found then she
will keep them until a home can be found. Good news on
all the horses is that they are all younger.
POA mare is like 8 or
9
Draft gelding 6 or 7
Arab gelding 13
UPDATE:

UP
DATE:
Blood work,
it showed pretty bad dehydration on all 3 , parasites
on all 3, and on the Arab it showed his body is eating
it's own tissue and muscle, that is very bad, and all 3
showed typical starved horse, the POS wasn't to bad, but
vet thinks all 3 will make 100% recovery with proper
nutrition and care. The draft and Arab will need months
to recover and regain muscle, as they are lacking muscle
which makes there hind ends loose and wobbly.
Sandy Has
brought the horses home. The horses are doing better,
they actually trotted to
breakfast today, it was not a pretty or graceful trot
but good effort on there part.
Here are new pictures of them eating this morning, you
can already see a little weight gain, which is probably
mostly water gain but it
still shows.
UP
DATE:
Something to give thanks for. Thank you all for your
donations. Thought you might want to see how much the
Draft has gained weight in the last 3 weeks:)
Sandy is doing an awesome job fattening this guy up:)

UPDATE:
The owner of the horses
was a no show for his court date on the 1st. Judge gave
him 14 days or re-appear, usually they put out a
warrant, they are being too lean on him. I guess Sandy
will have to go to next court date.
UPDATE:
Peral
the poa pony went into training in Coburg and ended up
being trained. She is doing great.
Big Eddie the draft
who's name has been changed to Barney is now in SanDiego
in a new home. Happy horse, great lady and great home.
The Arab Aramis is
still in Foster care, had all there teeth floated and
blood tests done last week,
Aramis the Arab's selium was 22 is now 203 totally
perfect.
