EVEA is a federally recognized 501c3.   All donations are tax deductible.

We serve the greater State of Oregon, Nevada, Northern California and Southern Washington. EVEA Horse Rescue has placed over 500 horses, mules, ponies and donkeys into new homes in the last 9 years.

We believe that each and every horse in the right hands has the potential of being an incredible companion.

Please consider adopting one of the many horses waiting for you in rescue.

Our first priority is matching horses with approved homes. Veterinary references and a home visit are required prior to adoption. All of our horses are adopted out on a  "no breeding" contract.

Statistics show there are far too many horses and not enough good homes.  Unwanted horses suffer the neglect and abuse we see daily. These poor souls fill the trucks of slaughter buyers shipping these American born horses to Mexico and Canada for slaughter.  Stop the madness, stop the breeding.

Our ultimate goal is to encourage people to stop the over-breeding of horses. Let's  put the horse slaughter plants and horse rescues out of business, one horse at a time.

Once starved and slaughter bound, these 2 youngsters, Comet and George were rescued by EVEA.  George has been adopted and can be seen on the updates page, Comet is still available for adoption and can be seen on the adopt a horse page.

Give me food and drink; and care for me.  When the day's work is done, shelter me. Give me a clean bed and leave me not too small a place in the stable, Talk to me, for your voice often takes the place of reins. Be good to me and I shall serve you more gladly and love you.
